The initial call to 9-1-1 at 12:39 p.m. said there was "smoke coming from the bathroom vent on the second floor," Ingersoll explained. There are multiple apartments in each building at Gilmore, located at 929 Hillcrest Ave., with different apartments on the first and second floors. The fire started in Building E, officials said.
