Luke Mathias Erkkila Erkkila was on supervised release after serving prison time for a 2013 stabbing incident when he attacked Scott Fitzgerald Kesler outside a Virginia residence July 26, 2019. According to court documents, Kesler had just arrived at his girlfriend s home on the 800 block of Sixth Avenue South and was getting out of a car when Erkkila approached him. Kesler later told police that Erkkila said, she s leaving me because of you, before shooting him. The victim said he tried to get the gun away from Erkkila before the defendant began stabbing him multiple times. When law enforcement arrived on scene they found Kesler sitting on the stairs of an upstairs apartment and was bleeding heavily from his neck and head area from a gunshot wound in the head by his ear, court documents said.
