Two local organizers of the controversial, unpermitted Fourth of July parade in Creswell have been fined $2,550 each for violating city codes, the Lane County Sheriff s Office said. The two organizers  Julie Bivens of Creswell and Chris Tough, who is affiliated with the far-right extremist group Proud Boys, of Cottage Grove  were each given two citations. The first citation, for organizing and participating in the parade, is a $50 fine; the second, for soliciting or confederating to violate an ordinance, is $2,500.

Scott Denham with the Lane County Sheriff’s Office said it’s a safety issue because the parade affected traffic and put young children in danger when people threw candy in the streets.
