Wife of missing man sues Seacor and Talos

Hannah Daspit, the wife of one of the men missing after the Seacor Power capsized, has filed suit against the company in Texas court.
The suit, against Seacor Marine, Seacor Liftboats and Talos Energy, was filed Wednesday in Houston.
The suit alleges that Daspit s husband, Dylan Daspit, was working on the Seacor Power as a borrowed employee. It alleges that the liftboat got underway despite dangerous weather conditions while at the direction and control of Talos Energy. When the liftboat left Port Fourchon, the suit alleges, the National Weather Service was forecasting tropical storm-force winds with suddenly higher waves in the area.
Non-profit created to support Acadiana families affected by Seacor Power disaster

Friends and neighbors of the Acadiana men affected by the recent Seacor Power disaster have created a non-profit organization to support the impacted families.
Funding raised by Lift Acadiana will go directly to the families of the five men from the Acadiana area that were on the lift boat when it capsized on April 13.
One of the founding members of Lift Acadiana, Brook Kyzar Fremin, said she was inspired to create the non-profit by those asking how they could do their part.

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - From Texas to Port Fourchon, friends and relatives of missing Seacor Power crewmembers are putting their hopes behind the United Cajun Navy. The Cajun Navy had four seaplanes in the air, fueled by dollars from supporters, eager to bring closure to victims’ family members.
United Cajun Navy sent out seaplanes from Lafitte during their five-day search for missing people.
Aboard one of them was the father of missing Seacor Power crewman Dylan Daspit, who’s holding out hope that a Seacor life jacket, found in the gulf off Terrebonne Parish, might offer clues.

NEW ORLEANS The first lawsuit has been filed in the Seacor Power tragedy.
The wife of a crewmember presumed dead in the capsizing filed it, accusing the ship s owners of violating federal maritime law and gross negligence.
