Grim December: Newly released data from Ohio’s fumbled reporting of coronavirus deaths shows just how grim the toll from COVID-19 actually had become in December, with nearly double the deaths in the month than previously reported. Ohio Department of Health data now shows at least 5,597 Ohioans died because of the coronavirus in December, up from the 2,859 reported last Wednesday, Rich Exner reports. December accounts for more than a third of all deaths reported to date.
