Discovering the taping system, was it lucky or inevitable is what were looking at in this lecture. The nixon taping, the whole story of the nixon tapes has been only partially told. It has taken me years to gather and find out what happened. And since it is one of the most important factors in the watergate story, i think it is important to get that history straight. And were going to try to do that in a summary fashion today. First, from lafayette. We have learned several ambulances have headed to the arts and Wine Festival in lafayette because people there have suffered from heat stroke. Well have more information and bring it to you from our news room. Finally allowed to go back home. Today, some of those who live in middleton, one of the hardest hit areas of the valley fire get a look at the damage. And it is devastating. Close to 600 homes gone. Some areas heavily damaged. Overnight, the valley fire grew a bit. Now its more than 74,000 acres. The firefighters are making progress, as well. It is now 40 contained. As i mentioned, some who live in middleton have been evacuated from their homes, evacuation orders have been lifted from james springs and now stories are developing at this hour. Tonight, we do have team coverage. Meteorologist rob mayeda standing by with how wind and heat can hurt the firefighting effort. First, pete has more on the story.
