books. no visits, no phone, no radio. really, not supposed to be able to do anything. this is nowhereville. besides exercise, penn s only other activity is writing letters. i write my sister. i write my brother. i write my dad. that s who i write most of the time, my dad. we talk about pretty much everything. that s like that s my best friend. what my dad is trying to impress upon me in particular after this incident was simply that i m not changing fast enough. i m not growing from this as fast as i need to be. and what he s been impressing upon me in his last several letters is change comes from within. these are his exact words, that i m fighting the wrong fight. the fight is not against the system, it s not against the c.o.s, the fight is me. the fight is fighting to change me. i actually got teary-eyed
insists he is not a rebel, especially when it comes to having a shank in jail. they tell me i m charged with possession of a weapon that i didn t even have possession ever. here i m going to get charged for it. you re being a baby. man up! dean is only two weeks from completing his sentence. but his release will be jeopardized if the jail determines he s responsible for the shank and choose to file new criminal charges. the decision will rest largely with the results of the disciplinary hearing. do you want to give us your explanation on what s going on? can i read my statement? go ahead. let me start this off by saying that i am a kitchen trustee and my job is to clean up the whole kitchen, front to back, wall to wall, ceiling to floor, and when c.o.s ask i also help the stockpeople in staff when c.o. is present in the stock room. now, this piece of wood as you guys refer tos it a shank was found in the stock room by an inmate, gary valentine, in front of c.o. merrick st
get you riled up, and get you just, that intoxication, under the influence trip. whereas white lightning can cause you you can drink a half a cup of white lightning and white lightning will actually the c.o.s come and ask you a common question, something like can i see your i.d. card because you have that white lightning in your system you immediately get violent. a lot of times they have that. they have to take you to the ground because you re on white lightning. you know what i mean. take six or seven to bring them down. at pelican bay we saw the definitive inmates guide to distilling white lightning. a hand drawn illustration confiscated in a cell search. i found that in an inmate s cell. it explains to other people on the tier and whatnot how to manufacture pure alcohol. they re actually making like the 150 proof, that s not your regular pruno. a little bit more sophisticated. this is the final result. this here is about the equivalent of grain alcohol.
awaiting a hearing with the prison s administrative law judge to plead his case. in the mean time, he let us know that while ad seg meant losing his television, the location of his cell, at least made it possible to keep up with current events. this cell right here in front of the police station, to me i think is the best cell on this range due to the fact that you get a lot of movement, you see who s coming in, who s coming out, inmates, c.o.s. catch the good scoops on who got in trouble with the c.o.s or whatever may be. three days later, bullock was about to face his own life-altering event, his hearing on the assault charge. we came up to get inmate bullock to see the adjustment committee today. he s being charged with a serious rule violation and anybody that is locked up gets the belly chain put on them and handcuffs and the dogs, just a little extra security. coming up
and as we re there, there s a guy next to me who was on the first helicopter, and he s whispering something, cause we don t talk too much. he s whispering something, and he said, yeah, helicopter crashed. and when he said that to me, i was thinking, one of the helicopters behind us was probably shot down. so, we just lost a bunch of our guys, and i go, oh, man, which one? and he goes, dude, our helicopter crashed in the front yard, and you walked right past it. and i was probably just too confused, looking at the house as opposed to looking at my right. there s this helicopter that was crashed. the team assaulting from the outside entered the compound. they were fired upon the brief volley from an automatic weapon poorly aimed. so, i believe one of the c.o.s was slightly injured when some glass broke and might have cut his cheek. but there were no serious injuries. there s a few fights going on in the main house and in the guesthouse. i wasn t involved with that at all.
