Right now its green because of recent rain. In a month this will be brown. All of the homes. Supply is getting low. Already on military showers. Minimal use. Reporter in the past, this community has used meter system at nearby fire hydrants. But now, the utility district is putting an end to that. So we cannot take mud out of the Water District. Other Water Districts are saying the same thing. This is a grim reality caused by the drought. Reporter tracey speaks for east bay mud. Our supply levels at record lows. Reporter there are she says theres only enough water for the 1. 3 million customers. Unfortunately, tasahara valley is outside the service area. Legally we cannot allow access to our water supply to communities to outside of our service boundaryies. Try going a day without water in your house and youll realize what a critical situation it is.
