When the movie “Golda” was first announced, it sounded like surefire Oscar gold. But much as Helen Mirren’s Golda Meir is caught off-guard by Egypt and Syria’s attack on Israel at the start of the movie the first strike of the 1973 Yom Kippur War I was unpleasantly surprised by how poorly made “Golda" turned out to be.
