US Rep. Terri Sewell is continuing her efforts to make the communities she represents safer. Sewell announced Wednesday that the Department of Justice has allotted millions of dollars in additional funding to fight crime, drug abuse, and mental health issues within the state of Alabama.
The grants and programs are meant to support law enforcement, bolster forensic science research, as well as prevent and respond to crimes against children.
"It is now the time for youth-led solutions," Angie Mejia said, who will work with Lourdes High School and Cradle 2 Career to find answers to gun violence.
