I want to thank our executive director and her team for organizing the round table as well as the sfmta acting director and the mtc Deputy Director for joining the meeting which i stayed for the entire time. The medium of the day was state and local partnerships and we had much to discuss, beginning with the storied history of Infrastructure Projects that followed the earthquake that took place 30 years ago last week. It not only damaged the bridge but also frees and other structures in San Francisco. We were allowed to rebuild the embarcadoro structure. These land grants were helpful
During Public Comment, the cac was reminded the balboa park station is the se second largest transit hub in the city. We were encouraged to link better transit lines and take note of the comparative left of investment in this outer naked neighborhood in the city versus downtown. Lastly, there was an update on a regional measure and the faster freedom affordability speed transparenctransparency equity. The branding strategy might be met with public skepticism given the recent history of delays in big transportation projects and relatively small gains in transit speed people have experienced over time. We offer field trips for grades kindergarten through grades 3. And id love to have each and every one of you come on one of those field trips with me. Im telling you, there is no better time to be had. Its such a great event that the pbs news hour a few months back came on one of the field trips and did a piece they put on the news hour and will be forwarding a clip of that to you so you can see it for yourself. But you got to come on one, i promise you. K2c is designed to equity in mind. I want to do everything i can to get those people who face barriers to the starting line. Organizations including felten institute, mission graduates, parents for Public Schools of San Francisco, family connections, 100 college prep, and the urban ed academy. Other partners like meta, and richmond promise neighborhood have been instrumental in getting students and families to engage with the kindergarten to college accounts. Some of the organizations are here with us this evening, but many are with us
