To save a wild jack rabbit. Yeah. It is heart breaking and interesting to watch. This is the scene along a highway in Ventura County. He sees a wild rabbit dart into the flames. You see the panic in his body language. He is able to coax the rabbit out and tuck its into his hoodie and i assume brings it to safety. This is a small act of compassion caught on camera by a news photographer. It has gone viral because in situations where there is travesty and devastation, people hold on any small kind act. It is gripping when you watch it. Right. I found myself watching it three, four, five times. It is amazing how much he wanted to save that animal. When he jumps up and puts his hands in his hair. He is at a loss of what to do. Then he stays and takes the little guy to safety. It reminded me of one small act of kindness that happened during the north bay wildfires. One of our reporters did a story on a family that had lost their home. The mom said i just need a play pen for my little boy. I

But in the meantime if you are typically a driver that takes 880 in the morning, southbound direction all lanes shut down at 66. You will need to use an alternate. Chpall traffic getting off at 66. Big rigs can use 580. Heres a live look at the crash. You can see a lot of activity. Traffic on the left corner of your screen you can see starting to be diverted off at 66. So a big backup. Avoid 880 if you can. Northbound we arent seeing delays. Traffic is moving along right at the limit. Another accident shut down 3 of 4 lanes on northbound 101 at palo alto. This crash happened about 3 a. M. And involves a fedex semi truck with two trailers and the sedan from chopper 5. The big rig with the trailers one of the trailers is tipped over. Its a mess here. A hispanic man was killed. The truck driver is on scene cooperating with authorities. We are waiting for a tow. This is a large scene that investigators are going over right now. When it comes to the load of big rigs that will affect the time of the closure. We already have units en route to pretty much bring the big rig back right side up and so we can expedited the opening. Debris where so theres a lot to clean up. Chp is directing traffic off the freeway so they can clear this scene as soon as possible. But again, they say it wont be open until 7 00 at the earliest. A few minutes ago we received a statement from fedex that says, our thoughts and prayers are with everyone involved in the tragic accident.
