eric woods, school board trustee. in this day and age it s important that we treat safety issues as a very high priority for our schools. two problems. i understand the school recoiling. i get it. especially where so many people can see it. sure. however, schools don t get to decide on supreme court matters, actually. the right to bear arms is enshrined in the constitution. the supreme court has ruled on this twice in the last five years. the federal government has ruled on it, too, and congress. so this school doesn t have the right to make laws. schools don t get to do that. the second point is they shouldn t have trouble discerning between a threat and not. there are things that threaten kids in schools. i don t think a law abiding dad exercising his tenth amendment right is one of them. one concern is states rights advocates say you have other schools in other states that have these laws that for bid within 1,000 feet of a school. michigan does not have that law. so in that s
