Reporter we talked to her and she got the call on her way to work there was a fire in her building. We talked with sources who had inside knowledge of whats inside the building here. We understand they restored historic items, possibly from the u. S. Capitol building. Of course, serious concerns about this fire over night but we understand that everything that they were working on was saved. We are just very thankful. Thankful because it could have been a lot worse if firefighters did not get here the minute they did. We got a lot of wood in there. Equal time correspondent Estephany Haro begins our coverage, looking at the benefits the homeless receive here. Martin luther king jr. Library is an institution in the heart of the Silicon Valley, open to everyone. It occupies 4th and san fernando streets. A key corner of san jose state university. The library has received multiple awards for its unique design and is a partnership with the city of san jose and san jose state university. What is isnt receiving any awards for is the fact that the Library Offers a home to the homeless. The hours are so extended you can take care of things and have time to come back and finish whatever it was that you were trying to do. The homeless can come here to use computers, read books, and they even sleep on the floor, or sometimes slumped over desks. The building stays open to all until 9 o clock most days. We have been following the at least 11 people were hurt in the fiery wreck on the u. S. 60 eastbound near alma school. Flames bursting dozens of feet into the air. Troopers say it started when a dump truck headed westbound lost control, crossed over the median wall and landed in the eastbound lanes hitting several vehicles. Fuel leaked out of the truck causing the fire. The driver was taken to a Trauma Center along with one other person. For only minor injuries.
