脳腫瘍の闘病を経て２０１９年に現役引退した元阪神の横田慎太郎氏（２６）が１４日、児童自立支援施設「阿武山学園」の併設校・大阪市立弘済小中学校分校のキャリア教育推進プログラム「夢授業」の講師役をオンラインで務めた。昨年に脊髄腫瘍を患い、２度目の闘病生活も不屈の精神で乗り越えた同氏。目標を持つ大切さを説き、最後は子供たちからのサプライズ演出に涙した。 横田氏は「目標を持って、その目標から逃げずに前に進み続ければ幸せな瞬間は必ずきます」と熱く語り掛けた。カーテンの隙間から西日が差し込む午後の講堂。全校生徒３７人に加え、教職員３０人も画面に映る同氏を食い入るように見つめた。
