The William Carey University School of Pharmacy has received full accreditation from the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education.
William Carey is one of only a few accelerated pharmacy programs in the country. Instead of the usual four years, students complete the program in two years and 10 months.
The curriculum includes classroom instruction and experiential learning as well as clinical rotations at pharmacies and health care organizations in Mississippi, Louisiana, and Alabama. WCU School of Pharmacy Dean Dr. Michael Malloy said, “We started this process probably five years ago to get to this point and for the past four years or so we have met with the accrediting body, had to write numerous reports, had them come on campus. They would have to interview faculty, students, staff. They want to see if we are telling the truth about what we say we have and what we say we are doing. So, basically that’s what we have been doing for the past four
