At the core of Western Illinois University s new academic programming for paramedics is a University alumnus whose educational and medical background has uniquely positioned him to lead the first program at a four-year, public higher education institution in Illinois.
At the recent Board of Trustees meeting, six Western Illinois University faculty were granted tenure by the Board. In addition, I have approved promotions for 18 faculty. I d like to take this opportunity to publicly congratulate our newly tenured and promoted faculty members, and to thank all of our faculty members for their continued dedication to WIU and our students.
When the Columbine High School massacre took place in 1999 it was seen as a watershed moment in the United States – the worst mass shooting at a school in
