ALL SCHOOLS IN THE NORTHERN DIVISION TO OPEN FROM MONDAY

The Ministry of Education, Heritage and Arts wishes to advise teachers, students and parents in the Northern Division, that all schools will open for classes from Monday 15 February, 2021.
Minister Rosy Akbar says, “Our schools in the Northern Division were damaged by the two recent cyclones, over the last few days, our team has worked tirelessly to ensure schools and classrooms are ready to welcome children back to their learning environment. We will continue to work in the interest of all Fijian children and ensure they have access to quality education”.
The Ministry has made arrangements for schools in areas without access to water. The Water Authority of Fiji will cart water to the affected schools and schools without access to electricity have been provided with generators to accommodate this absence.

Bengaluru: The State Government has ordered all Private Schools, be it Central or State syllabi, to reduce tuition fees for the current academic year by 30 percent in view of
COVID-19 pandemic. The Schools have been strictly told not to collect development fees or other fees apart from tuition fee.
With this, the Government has ended the tug of fight between parents and the Private School Management over the fees. The Parents Association had threatened to hold agitation accusing the Government of not protecting the interest of parents due to pandemic. This had forced the Government to do the balancing act with both the warring faction stuck to their stand.
