A NEW YORK Times investigation into the UKâs handling of the pandemic reveals misuse of government funds on a massive scale during its Covid-19 response, calling it âone of the greatest spending sprees in Britainâs postwar era.â
The report, titled âWaste, Negligence and Cronyism: Inside Britainâs Pandemic Spendingâ, was published on Thursday.
In it, the NY Times alleges that âabout $11 billion went to companies either run by friends and associates of politicians in the Conservative Party, or with no prior experience or a history of controversy.â
