The Brightfield School will offer place-based education for students in first through eighth grades starting in September, replacing the Chewonki Elementary and Middle School after it closes in June.
Chewonki students Ella Seymour and Maeve Tholen were recognized by the Scholastic Arts and Writing Awards for narrative pieces they wrote as assignments for their literacy class.
