At this particular point, i want to make a few comments, piggybacking off of the other commissioners comments on the search and rescue drill. Chief cochrane was there. It was just amazing, and a privilege for this commissioner to walk with you on the beach to go up through the swimmers, and get educated in terms of how we deal with it. It is interesting because things have been modified in a sense that there were two rescue teams there, commissioners. We were able to witness the methodology in terms of a group that goes in and a secondary group behind in terms of the swimmers if there is some issues of being tired or the surf being challenging. Seeing rain, as well, as the rain from the southwest comes at us today. Then theres more as we go through the week. Temperatures will be climbing. Were stuck in the 50s. 54 in new jersey. 56 in philadelphia. Middle 50s for the Lehigh Valley and delaware. You see the clouds over the Lehigh Valley. 57 with scattered showers at 9 00. Steadier rain the noontime hour. 59 degrees. What you wont see is sunshine. The rain will be tapering off today. Thats not going to be the end of it this week. Out whats to come with nbc 10 chief meteorologist glenn hurricane schwartz. Glenn . Yeah, tracy, we do have more rain and some places will get hit harder especially delaware and in south jersey. This is what were seeing now. South jersey and the philadelphia area getting hit pretty hard, but there is another area down by washington thats coming straight up at us and even if the rain tapers off a little bit, it is going to be increasing and getting heavier. We do have one fairly heavy area right over philadelphia itself. Right now that is moving to the northeast as you just saw head the toward northeast philly, so it will taper off for a while, but you saw that other area that is coming in. Weve also had more rain in this area right to mays landing to other areas. Some of these places have already seen over an inch and there will be localized flooding in that area, but to the north and west of that area and a lot of pennsylvania counties much lighter rain. Well have fewer hours of rain.
