RIDGEWOOD The Board of Education approved the appointment of Thomas Gorman as superintendent of the 5,600-student school district at its meeting Monday.
The high school principal has been serving as interim superintendent since Dec. 11, following the retirement of Daniel Fishbein after 12 years as its chief.
Gorman previously served as high school principal for eight years. Dr. Gorman has demonstrated outstanding leadership and a progressive vision, said Board of Education President Michael Lembo. Dr. Gorman is both a Ridgewood High School graduate and a long-standing member of this community who understands the value of a Ridgewood education and the strong connections between the district and community.
