DRESDEN Officials in Dresden are sending flyers to residents urging they vote against Regional School Unit 2’s proposed $32.6 million budget for the 2021-22 school year.
Dresden has been vocal about the school budget from the start of the district’s budgeting process, and town selectmen voted Tuesday night to go forth with appointing a withdrawal committee to explore Dresden’s leaving RSU 2, according to Town Administrator Michael Faass.

Town officials rallying against proposed increase in Regional School Unit 2 budget
The budget for next year is $32.61 million, a 3.32% increase from last year s budget, and municipal officials are voicing opposition to the spending plan head of a district-wide vote.

The Monmouth Select Board met Wednesday night and discussed the impact RSU 2’s $32.61 million budget would have on the town next year. Monmouth is seeing a 9.5% increase to the town allocation.
