The dark cloud of relocation is once again cast over the Oakland A’s. As A’s fans, we have lived in a multiple decades-long existential crisis, not knowing if we are going to lose our team at any moment. We get the highs of the new stadium renderings, which could probably fill a museum by this point, and the lows of the news of yet another failed proposal. Being an A’s fan is a roller coaster, which can be really fun at times, and “plunging to possible death” at other times.and this week it’s been the latter. It’s been a real jumble of thoughts and emotions this week for A’s fans, especially the local fans whose lives are inextricably tied to the Coliseum every summer. Out of that jumble, and scattershot comments on the previous stadium posts, here are some of my muddled thoughts.

Regarding “Infant’s death raises questions on Boudin’s aid to violence victims” (Front Page, April 25): Domestic violence is a complex problem that defies easy solutions. The tragic death of a 7-month-old baby at the hands of his caretaker is now drawing much-needed attention to this threat in our community. A recent San Francisco Chronicle article essentially blamed District Attorney Chesa Boudin, who declined to charge the same individual with two prior domestic violence cases, for the baby’s death.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) Mayor Lester Miller has been in office for more than 100 days. In his first ‘State of the Community’ address, he says the community is strong.
An excited Mayor Miller addressed the crowd at Luther Williams field Thursday. He spoke about many of the accomplishments his administration has already made, from the Brookdale Warming Center to the Clean Streets Matter initiative. He says those accomplishments are the result of teamwork.
“Together I am confident this team will meet the challenges because we have proven that we live by the Golden Rule treating our neighbors as we want to be treated,” Miller said.
