The yearly meteor drought is finally over.
The Lyrid meteor shower, the first meteor shower in months, peaks on April 22 just before dawn.
At its peak, stargazers will be able to see 10 or so meteors per hour or spot glowing dust trails from one of the meteors themselves.
The Lyrids are the first meteor shower after a long meteor drought between January and April each year and are active from around April 16 to 25.
