The fight for civil rights and justice goes back generations and has looked different each decade. We’re speaking with community leaders, elders – those who have lived through victories and troubled times, to talk about their experiences, and compare them with what we still struggle with today.The halls of the Schenley High School building in a Pittsburgh neighborhood the sound of silence is the modern atmospheric setting. If you were to wind back the clock, you d hear the halls filled with students, classrooms with educators preparing future generations, and the screech of sneakers against the basketball court in the gym.The sound of silence doesn t mean the high school is empty.
