Scharnberg Park Trout Ready to Fish Following Winter Stocking

Spencer, IA (KICD)– Those looking to do some fishing can head out to Scharnberg Park to catch themselves some trout.
The Iowa Department of Natural Resources usually has public stocking events at a several locations around the state, including the pond west of Spencer, but Clay County Naturalist Briee Blom tells us that plan had to change this year because of the pandemic.
Blom says these fish have to stocked multiple times a year in Scharnberg’s case because water temperatures go outside of the fish’s preferred level.
