wagner. ron desantis described it as a crisis at war. donald trump called it an invasion. with less than two weeks left until the iowa caucuses, today, trump and desantis published dueling op-eds in the des moines register. both cast immigration as the most pressing problem facing our country. both candidates promised that they, and they alone, can t fix it. now, what both trump and desantis are advancing in these offices, neither actually fixes to our country s border issues, nor are they actually immigration policies. but they are the sort of plans you can tell people that you have, and they are articulating them to the public. they want to let fewer brown people in. they want immigration to be the most painful process possible. they want to set new records in deportations. again, none of that really addresses any of the root causes of migration, for the actual problems with our immigration system, which are real. but it is a plan, and it s a plan around which republicans

tell us about what happened. well, that was a very early plot twist in my career. i was coming out of college and i was going to go work at a theatre, and i had a a friend who was working at hbo, which at that time was a very start up network, a long time ago pretty start up network and she said, well, you are going to go work in the theatre but there is some guy coming who s going to be making plays for television on hbo. you could maybe be his assistant, and so, i got that job as a secretary at the very bottom, starting out a long time ago. they don t say secretary any more. they did back then! they did back then i had to take a typing test! did you?! and then i was very lucky to be hitting a company like that at the time where my rate of growth and knowledge, really, the company was growing at the same pace, so i was able to move up there and just learn so much about making film and telling stories, still working with a lot of playwrights and still being so clos
moment that you will be forgiven if you don t remember are missed at the time, a lot happened on this day, but at his speech before the insurrection on january six, president trump had a lot to say about bias on the supreme court. you know, look, i am not happy with the supreme court. they love to rule against me. the supreme court, they rule against me so much, you know why, because the story is, i have not spoken to any of them since virtually they got in, but the story is, that they re puppets. the only way they can go out to, because they hate that, not good on the social circuit, and they only way to get out is to rule against trump. let s rule against trump, and they do that. now, in reality, the current supreme court is one of the most conservative courts in modern history. they are the court that overturned roe and ended affirmative action, all practically speaking, gave it to citizens united. conservatives dominate the bench, 6 to 3. but donald trump is not compl
