Canada’s prison system has some explaining to do over its “incomprehensible” decision to move schoolgirl killer and rapist Paul Bernardo to a medium-security prison in Quebec, says Public Safety Minister Marco Mendicino.
Premier Doug Ford is calling for federal Corrections Commissioner Anne Kelly to quit or be fired after schoolgirl killer and rapist Paul Bernardo was transferred to a medium-security prison in Quebec.
Public Safety Minister Marco Mendicino, who apparently didn’t even know about Bernardo’s transfer, released a statement on Friday calling the move “shocking and incomprehensible.”
Bernardo is serving a life sentence for kidnapping, torturing and killing Leslie Mahaffy, 14, and Kristen French, 15, in the early 1990s near St. Catharines.
