Adam Graham faces first-degree bias crime charges for allegedly threatening Asian and Black customers of a Scappoose Fred Meyer.
A St. Helens man was arrested after he allegedly mouthed racial slurs while threatening to cut the throats of customers of a local Fred Meyer.
Adam Christopher Graham, 35, now faces two counts of first-degree bias crime, the legal term for a hate crime, as well as a second-degree bias crime charge and two counts of fourth-degree assault. He is accused of using racial slurs that target Asian and Black Americans.
Officers with the Scappoose Police Department arrested Graham around 9:20 a.m. April 24 following reports of an assault in progress at the Fred Meyer store, 51501 Columbia River Highway.

OnPoint Community Credit Union has been opening locations in Fred Meyer stores across the Portland area.
Continuing a trend, OnPoint Community Credit Union is opening more branches in Fred Meyer stores in Portland and Beaverton, the credit union announced this week.
Two Fred Meyer locations in Northeast Portland namely the Hollywood store and another at 6615 N.E. Glisan St. will welcome OnPoint branches by the end of the month. Two more in Beaverton the store at Beaverton Town Square and the store at 15995 S.W. Walker Road will add OnPoint services in early May.
