Despite how talented they are, upcoming artists in the Eastern Cape face the mammoth task of breaking into the entertainment industry which is one of the contributing factors to a brain drain. But University of Fort Hare graduate and opera singer Sazi Gcaba, 25, who assumed the position of acting artist co-ordinator at the university’s Eastern Cape Visual Arts Centre, is determined to pay it forward for artists.
Sazi Gcaba is one of 20 opera singers from around the world who have been chosen to participate in a production called Artist For Peace, which is aimed at raising funds for the crisis in Ukraine.
