Years of conflict have left many unexploded landmines around South Sudan. Now groups are working to clear the mines as people who fled the fighting are returning home.
Over 5,000 people have been killed or injured by unexploded ordnances and land mines since 2004, according to the UN Mine Action Service (UNMAS). The country has given UNMAS until 2026 to clear all anti-personnel minefields in the country.
However, munitions are being found daily.
