Islamabad [Pakistan], May 17 (ANI): Sayed Zulfikar Bukhari, special assistant to Prime Minister Imran Khan on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development (OPHRD), on Monday announced his resignation after allegations of corruption against him in Rawalpindi Ring Road project scam.
In a tweet, Bukhari informed: Owing to the allegations in ongoing Ring Road inquiry I want to set this example by resigning from office until my name is cleared up of any allegations and media s obnoxious lies. He also reiterated that he has nothing to do with Ring Road or any ongoing Real Estate project.

‘RDA to convert to digital banking’

KARACHI: Roshan digital accounts will ultimately be converted into digital banking, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Overseas Pakistanis Sayed Zulfikar Bukhari said on Monday.
He was in a discussion with Azfar Ahsan, founder of Corporate Pakistan Group (CPG) and Nutshell Group, in an online live session from CPG dialogue platform titled “The Way Forward for Pakistan”. Discussing the problem of Hundi, he said the government is trying to attract overseas Pakistanis away from the use of Hundi and Hawala but to do that we have to match the ease of transfer and are working on it.

Roshan Digital Accounts (RDA) will eventually be converted into digital banking, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) for Overseas Pakistanis, Sayed Zulfikar Bukhari, has revealed.
While addressing an online session held by Corporate Pakistan Group (CPG), titled “The Way Forward for Pakistan,” Bukhari said that the Federal Government is working to introduce several incentives under RDA to ensure overseas Pakistanis do not remit money through illicit channels.

The government is also making efforts to sensitize overseas Pakistanis against the economic instability caused by remitting money through illegal ways such as Hundi and Hawala. However, to achieve this goal, the government must provide overseas Pakistanis the ease of transferring money back to their homeland.
