I spoke with Milpitas Police a short time ago and they want to emphasize this. There was no active shooter in the mall, but they did give us details about what was happening inside. This happened during the 7 p. M. Hour here. Three people came into the mall and went into a Jewelry Store and started smashing jewelry cases. Apparently customers and workers in the mall mistook that noise for gunshots and people started to run. Police arriving on the scene here and they placed the mall into lockdown. They got everyone out of the area and went into the mall to look for anyone who may have sheltered in place. Listen to some of the shoppers we spoke with just a short time ago. We just hear people running and then they said that there was shots fired and we were outside. We kept going and we stopped because i wanted to put her on my back and then the
