good evening. i m raj mathai. we have made it till friday. we ll get to all of those stories in a moment. but first we want to start with some breaking news. the uc strike might be coming to an end. within the last hour, we have confirmed the university of california and the graduate student workers union reached a labor agreement. now, if the members of the union approve the agreement, this five-week strike will end. this is the largest ever strike of academic workers in the united states. nearly 48,000 workers walked off the job across the uc system, and that includes over at uc berkeley. they will now return if this deal is ratified with increases in pay, more support for child care, and expanded health care plans. also tonight, a demand for a recount. a local chapter of the naacp wants a recount in the oakland mayoral race, and they want the county to pay for it. the civil rights group says the ranked choice voting system used in the mayor s race was poorly explained, a
