Campbell Soup Co.’s decision to buy premium pasta sauce brand Rao’s parent company Savos Brands for $2.7bn does not reflect negatively on the health of the iconic soup company’s core business or ability to drive organic growth, but rather is a “perfect fit” and “accelerant” of the company’s existing “successful strategic plan,” CEO Mark Clouse said.
