Brothers and Sisters of the Black Community, members of the press, and the American People:
We have prepared this statement to answer some of the many inquiries that we have had over the last few days about Mr. Noah Green. Naturally, we, like most of you, were disturbed watching the news of an assault on the U.S. Capitol where one police officer was killed, one was injured, and Mr. Green was killed.

On Tuesday, four days since Noah Green died after he allegedly drove his car into an entrance of the U.S. Capitol and killed police officer William Billy Evans, the Nation of Islam released a statement. It was reported not long after his death that Green was a supporter of the Nation of Islam and its leader, Louis Farrakhan. The attack took place on Good Friday, the holiest day in the Christian calendar.
In one of the opening paragraphs, the statement does read that, without naming the officers in question:

Louis Farrakhan and the Nation of Islam attempted to distance themselves from the man who killed a Capitol Police officer in a vehicle attack Friday after it emerged that he was a follower of the controversial group.
A statement released by the group on behalf of Farrakhan, his family, and all registered members of the organization said that “we are in sympathy with the victims of this tragedy” and “we are in sympathy with the families of these victims.”
The group acknowledged that Noah Green attended one of their conferences, made a $1,000 donation to the organization, and was studying to join the religion, but he had not become a member yet. It disavowed his actions but had some kind words for him too and criticized any effort to tie the attack to the organization or Farrakhan himself.
