A very good saturday morning to you. Right now, in this country, some 61 of workers, 18 and over, have access to some form of paid sick leave. About 49 million American Workers lack paid sick leave. Thats what we are talking about this morning. Only three states in this country require some form of paid sick leave. Here is a map this morning from the National Partnership for women and families. Those three states, california, massachusetts, and connecticut, connecticut and massachusetts laws provide 40 hours of sick time per calendar year. Calendars taxed at 241 hours. Law goes into effect in january. There is also over a dozen cities and municipalities around the country that have their own laws when it comes to paid sick leave but president obama has proposed a sevenpaid sick leave california year in his state of the union address.
