A program that is helping small businesses, front-line workers and charities in Carlisle is closing in on its fundraising goal.The Save Our Smalls program was launched in December by Destination Carlisle.For every $300 that is donated, Destination Carlisle buys products or gift cards from a different small business. It s really a double-duty donation. You’re helping a small business because you re giving them $300, said Stephanie Gilbert, president of Destination Carlisle and a small business owner.Fifty-seven small businesses have been chosen to receive the donations. For a small business like ours in downtown Carlisle, especially the retail businesses or the service-oriented businesses, $300 is a good day, Gilbert said.The gift cards purchased from the businesses are given to front-line workers and charities, including the Community CARES homeless shelter.
