SOCIAL media has been awash with funny, absurd, and almost believable stories on April Fool s Day which will have surely caught a few people out. A STUNNING drone image shows Grange Lido basking in the Winter Wonderland . The unique mushroom-shaped pool has been mothballed since the final swimmers left in 1993 however campaign group Save Grange Lido have been working hard to restore the pool and bring it back into use. Photographer Roger Merrifield said: “Being a Grange local and seeing it snowing over the bay it seemed a rare and unique opportunity to combine my Covid restricted daily exercise and trying to capture the Bay in a Winter Wonderland state with my drone.” Matt Barker, of Save Grange Lido, said: “This picture is so evocative with the lido glistening in the snow with our beautiful town as a backdrop. We’ve had such an amazing reaction to the image on our social media pages. We can’t wait to restore this iconic gem and make it the perfect place for a dip.”
