Savannah allows open containers in most of the city s Historic District and across the Savannah River on Hutchinson Island, but only in plastic 16-ounce cups. Additionally, drinks are limited to one cup per person.
The boundary in the north is the city limits Savannah River in the north to Jones Street in the south.
The boundary on the west runs from the centerline of the Talmadge Bridge, extending south on West Boundary Street all the way to Jones Street. Note that pedestrians are not allowed on the Talmadge Bridge.
The eastern boundary is set by the centerline of the railroad tracks extending north to the Savannah River. The line is east of Savannah River Landing and west of the Bilbo Canal.
