The University of Arkansas gymnastics team might be considered a slight underdog as the third-highest seed tonight at the NCAA Norman (Okla.) Regional in the Lloyd Noble Center.
The Hogs headed into the SEC Championships in Birmingham on Saturday seeking redemption from a last-place finish in 2021 and they got it. Arkansas placed second in the afternoon session and came in sixth overall with a final score of 196.450.
In third place after three events, the No. 18 Arkansas gymnastics team stepped up to the vault runway for a monster final rotation and put a bow on Sunday’s quad meet in Denver with a win and an end to the regular season.
The Gymbacks began an action-packed weekend in Tuscaloosa on Friday night with the first of two competitions and fell to the No. 7 Crimson Tide 196.000-198.050.
The Arkansas gymnastics team has finished its home slate for the season and takes a tour of Alabama this weekend as the Gymbacks gear up for a pair of meets on Friday and Sunday in Tuscaloosa and Huntsville.
