all right? okay. reporter: on valentine s day 2009 tiffany dombrowski almost died. tiffany stopped breathing for 30 minutes after this pickup truck hit an ice crack while driving on the frozen lake winnebago and sank into the icy waters. also in the truck were tiffany s best friend, 9-year-old savannah kleinhans and savannah s dad, who both drowned. tiffany remained in a coma her fate uncertain. tiffany s father confided in me that they were so close that he was afraid that maybe tiffany would leave because she d want to be with savannah. reporter: but tiffany didn t leave, and three years later while recovering from her brain injury she s learning to scuba dive for the first time. are you ready for this? reporter: so she can become a rescue diver and one day save someone like savannah. if that s her motivation, it just warms my heart. we couldn t be happier and just to hear that she even wants to give this a shot is just a credit to her. reporter: tiffany s other
