SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Local youth coaches gathered at the Frank Callen Boys and Girls Club to address the Savannah Gators incident that happened December 7 in Florida.
The video has been viewed thousands of times. Gerrel Williams, hitting a youth football player from the Gators twice in the head, screaming at him, and pushing him off the field. It drew criticism from people across the country, even reaching the likes of Savannah State alum and NFL analyst Shannon Sharpe and NBA superstar LeBron James.

Gerrell Williams - the youth football coach who was seen striking one of the young players will now be charged with child abuse, despite the mother declining to press charges. TMZ reports: The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office along with our local state attorney’s office have reviewed this case and the decision has been made that charges for child abuse will be filed, regardless of parent’s decision not to press charges, Maj. Jacob Ruiz said. The actions of this person are despicable and there is zero-tolerance when it comes to the abuse of a child.

An adult 9U football coach in Georgia was seen in a viral video aggressively punching a child at least two times.
In the video, the angry man appears to aggressively deliver a hard right-hand punch to the child’s helmet twice. He also grabs the boy and shakes him while another adult stands nearby. A third man comes over to the situation but does not intervene.
