Sipho Nkosi s red tape cutting role crucial to encourage investment – Menar

The appointment of mining stalwart Sipho Nkosi to cut red tape is crucial to encourage new investment and expand existing investment in South Africa, says Menar MD Vuslat Bayoglu, whose private investment company has about R1.5-billion worth of investment being delayed by regulatory processes. While Nkosi was appointed to reduce government red tape in general, Bayoglu believes that his background and skill would be better used in the mining regulatory space. Kangra coal mine recommences operations

Advertisement Coal mining company Kangra, which was put on care and maintenance due to COVID-19 lockdowns in the domestic and export markets, has resumed operations at its coal mine, located in Saul Mkhizeville in the province of Mpumalanga, South Africa, has with the opening of Pit C. The management of Kangra, a subsidiary of private investment company Menar, has over the last few weeks engaged various stakeholders to enable smooth commencement of operations that were suspended in March 2020. Bradley Hammond, Menar Chief Operating Officer, who is overseeing the resumption of operations, said that Kangra was in the process of ramping up operations in order to meet customer supply requirements.
