CLAIREMONT    A motorized bicycle rider was struck by an SUV and killed Friday evening in Clairemont, police said. The crash happened around 5:30 p.m. on Genesee Avenue a few blocks south of Clairemont Mesa Boulevard, San Diego police Officer John Buttle said. The victim had just turned from Sauk Avenue onto north Genesee Avenue when he was struck from behind by a 30-year-old man driving a 2021 Mercedes-Benz AMG GLE 63 S, Buttle said. According to police, the rider turned into the right lane of Genesee, then made a quick move into the left lane into the path of the SUV. Advertisement
