Japan to work with Sindh in automobile, fisheries, IT sectors

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and Japanese Ambassador to Pakistan Kuninori Matsuda have agreed to work together for the development of the fisheries and automobile sectors as well as IT-based youth exchange programmes from next year.
This decision was taken in a meeting held between the two at the CM House on Monday. The chief executive said that there were a lot of investment opportunities for Japanese investors in Sindh. “The provincial government encourages investment in the province directly or on public-private partnership [PPP] mode.”
The visiting envoy of Japan said that they have selected the sectors of automobile, fisheries and youth exchange programmes in IT. The CM said that his government was working to develop the fisheries sector on international standards.
Islamabad: Pakistan’s energy minister discussed the prospect of new energy projects and joint ventures in the oil and gas sector with the envoys of the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia in Islamabad.
Pakistan is currently focusing on energy projects under its new renewable energy policy to harness the local energy resources as well as the revival of exploration and production activities in the oil and gas sector to attract foreign investment and boost economic growth.
In a meeting with the UAE Ambassador Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Salem Al-Zaabi, Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Energy Minister Omar Ayub Khan reviewed progress on the current petroleum projects and discussed ways to further the Pak-UAE cooperation in the energy sector. “The collaboration in the energy sector would provide a fresh impetus to economic ties between the two brotherly countries” the UAE envoy said. ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Minister for Energy Omar Ayub Khan on Wednesday said that the government is focusing on energy projects under new renewable energy policy to harness local resources for power generation.
Talking to Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Nawaf bin Saeed Ahmed Al-Malki in Islamabad on Wednesday, he said revival of exploration and production activities in oil and gas sector would attract investment in the country.
The minister also apprised the envoy about the progress of various energy projects in lieu of investment-friendly policies introduced by current government in diverse fields for thriving economic development of Pakistan.
