Saudi Arabia releases 49 more Pakistani prisoners

KARACHI: The Saudi Arabia government has released 49 more Pakistani prisoners who were languishing in jails in the Kingdom for different crimes.
This was announced by Pakistan’s ambassador-designate to Saudi Arabia Lt Gen (retd) Bilal Akbar here on Wednesday.
Thanking Pakistani donors, Akbar said four more cases of “Haq e Khas” had been resolved, referring to money paid in compensation on behalf of the prisoners.

Pak envoy will hold open audience in Saudi Arabia

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Ambassador for Saudi Arabia Lt Gen (R) Bilal Akbar has announced to hold open audience (open kutcheries) for listening grievances of Pakistani expatriates living in the Kingdom.
The ambassador, who assumed the assignment last week in Saudi capital Riyadh, issued guideline about his functioning to the diplomats and staff working in the mission on Tuesday and reminded that being envoy “my foremost duty and basic preference to sort out problems of the expatriates working in Saudi Arabia.”
Saudi Arabia’s ambassador for Pakistan Admiral Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Maliki is also in Saudi Arabia. He had meeting with General Bilal Akbar in Pakistan’s embassy early this week.

Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa emphasised the need to further enhance military to military cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
The army chief’s remarks came during a meeting with the Chief of General Staff (CGS) Saudi Armed Forces General Fayiadh Bin Hamed Al Rowaily in Riyadh on Wednesday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), matters of mutual interest, regional security situation including the Afghan peace process, defence, security and military to military cooperation were discussed during the meeting.
