Sri City personnel engaged in a clean-up drive at Chengambakam village on Thursday.
As part of making Sri City inclusive and sustainable, the industrial city administrators on Thursday took up a massive cleaning activity in the neighbouring villages.
A large number of personnel including security staff, Sri City Foundation members, employees and public led by sarpanch Parvathi Sanyasaiah participated in a cleanliness drive at Chengambakkam village. The drive yielded a substantial quantity of plastic waste and other forms of garbage. Surendranath, Executive Officer of Panchayat Raj department, Satyavedu, appealed to the villagers to cooperate with the Panchayat secretary and volunteers in maintaining the standards of upkeep set by Sri City.

Collector M. Hari Narayanan on Tuesday night issued orders halting the payment of salaries to the employees of revenue, panchayat raj, medical and health, secretariats and municipal administration for “neglecting COVID duties”.
The employees from these departments were involved in the conduct of fever surveys in the mandals of Peddamanydam, Tavanampalle, Srikalahasti, Satyavedu and Madanapalle, all of which have been reporting a high number of infections in the second wave.
The order was issued under the Disaster Management Act. The Collector said that action under the Act would be taken against any staffer found to be neglecting the COVID duties.

Hari Narayanan on Tuesday night issued orders, halting the payment of salaries to the employees of the revenue, Panchayat Raj, medical and health, secretariats and municipal administration, involved in the 6th phase fever survey duties in the mandals of Peddamanydam, Tavanampalle, Srikalahasti, Satyavedu and Madanapalle.
The order was issued under the Disaster Management Act. The collector said that the Act would be promulgated against any staff of the government department found to be neglecting the covid duties. The five mandals have been reporting a heavy number of Covid positive cases in the second wave.
