A clinical drug trial provided some groundbreaking results at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York. The findings of a clinical trial with 14 patients were presented at the American Society of Clinical Oncology annual meeting in June.
A small-scale study found that experimental use of immunotherapy resulted in the complete remission of rectal cancer in 100% of patients. The study, lead by Dr. Luis A. Diaz Jr. of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, made history in the medical field for its success against cancer.
In what appears to be a very promising breakthrough for the treatment of rectal cancer, a small drug trial conducted in the US found every patient treated in the experiment had their cancer successfully go into remission.
